
Danielle Martin is a fashion designer based in Toronto, Canada. She is the recipient of prestigious national and international awards. She has experience working with top-tier couturiers Christian Lacroix and Roland Mouret. She and her partner launched the label MARTIN LIM.
Danielle Martin holds a MA Fashion from Central St Martins in London, UK. She is an Assistant Professor of Fashion Design and Creative Direction at Toronto Metropolitan University. Concurrently, she is completing her doctorate in Études et pratiques des arts from UQAM. Her research explores the intersection of art, the technology of 3D printing and fashion.
3D printing is a subject she has explored since 2014, collaborating at the time with May-Li Khoe and Ben Cramer to create a first 3D printed Tutu.
Her teaching in design and creative direction, as well as her research, explores mixed emotions as inspiration and sustainable solutions to problems caused by neomania.
